Feeling small...
Scent of an easy meal...
In an instant the size of a bear...
His prey runs from fear :)

Woodland Zoo in seattle

Cropped image

Canon 17-85mm 4.x-5.x IS USM

I'm really liking what this lense can do when the light is bright.

edited: submitted larger image for prints :)

This is a wonderful shot. The composition is /superb/.
This focus seems a bit off, though - it looks like you focused on the tail feathers rather than on the peacock's head, which I think would have worked better.
Also the motion blur on some of the tail feathers is irritating me, but I suspect you couldn't have used a much faster shutter speed - the light doesn't look quite bright enough.

Apart from that, I think this is spot-on. The colours of gorgeous, and it's very different to any other peacock shot I've seen.

Thank you for the honest critique! I know what you mean on the tail feather focus... I believe the peacock is at a little bit of an angle.. not straight on. Focus was on the feathers [ wanted head!] you can see where focus falls off on the right side of the image and the botton left because of the depth.

This one was roaming around with a flock of kids chasing him :) I think they just need to feel threatened. Also I think it is a mating thing too but don't quote me on that one.
